What comes over

Everything you need to tee off in Cleek — the event and the people in it.

📅

The event

Name, date, course, format, and gender — becomes a full Cleek event, ready to score.

👥

The roster

Every player on the tee sheet. Existing members are matched by email, then by name; new names are set up as members.

🎽

Handicaps & GHIN

Handicap index (plus handicaps included) and GHIN number come across with each player.

Tee assignments

Each player’s tee — Blue, White, Red — carries over so nets are right from the first hole.

What doesn’t come over — and why that’s fine

Scores and past results stay in Golf Genius. The import brings the event and the roster; the golf gets scored in Cleek, which is exactly what lights up challenges, predictions, side games, and share cards. This is a one-time import you run yourself — not an automatic or live sync.

The Social Layer

Every round you score on Cleek unlocks all of this

Import the event, score it in Cleek, and the engagement comes free — no configuration needed.

⚔️

Player Challenges

Players challenge each other before or during a round. As scores go in on Cleek, challenges are decided automatically.

🔮

Live Predictions

Spectators predict outcomes hole-by-hole during play. Each score entered resolves them instantly — engagement even for people not playing.

📊

Live Leaderboard

The public leaderboard updates as your group scores. Share the link with spectators, display on a clubhouse TV, or embed on your website.

🖼️

Share Cards

Branded, shareable images auto-generate for every completed round — round result, personal best, event position. Players share to social media.

🎯

Side Games

Skins, Nassau, Match Play — tracked automatically from the hole-by-hole scores entered in Cleek. No spreadsheets.

🏅

Cred & Reputation

Players earn Form for every round and personal best, and build their Cred with every challenge won — across your whole season, not just single events.

🔥

Badges & Streaks

18 achievement badges and weekly play streaks. Every round played on Cleek counts toward them.

How to import from Golf Genius to Cleek

Three steps, about five minutes. No API keys. No IT ticket. A file and a paste.

1

Export from Golf Genius

In Golf Genius, export your event roster / tee sheet as a CSV or spreadsheet — the same export you already use.

Nothing is connected to your Golf Genius account, and nothing in it is changed.

2

Paste or upload it into Cleek

Go to Settings → Golf Genius Import, then upload the file or paste the data. Cleek reads the event details and the player roster.

You see a full preview — event, course, format, and every player — before anything is created.

3

Score it in Cleek

Cleek creates the event and the roster, ready to play. Your group scores on Cleek, and the social layer comes with it.

Challenges, predictions, side games, share cards, badges — all on the rounds you score in Cleek.

What it does — and what it doesn’t.

No surprises, no hidden connection to your Golf Genius account.

A one-time import, not a live sync

This is a manual import you run when you want it. Cleek does not connect to your Golf Genius account, does not poll it, and does not sync in the background.

Your Golf Genius account is never touched

You hand Cleek a file. Cleek never signs in to Golf Genius, never writes back to it, and never modifies your events, scores, or settings there.

You review everything first

The parsed event and every player appear in a preview. Nothing is created in Cleek until you confirm the import.

Handicaps come over correctly

Handicap index, GHIN number, and tee assignment carry across — including plus handicaps, which are read as plus handicaps.

What your players experience

They show up to an event that’s already set up — their name, their handicap, their tee.

Season Wrapped — built from the rounds you play

At the end of the year, every player gets a recap of their season: best round, favorite course, personality type, handicap journey, challenges won, Form earned. Every round scored on Cleek feeds into it automatically.

Frequently asked about importing from Golf Genius

How do I import from Golf Genius to Cleek?

Export your event roster or tee sheet from Golf Genius as a CSV or spreadsheet, then go to Settings → Golf Genius Import in Cleek and upload or paste it. Cleek reads the event and every player, shows you a preview, and creates the event and roster when you confirm. About five minutes.

Is this an automatic or live sync?

No — and we won’t pretend otherwise. It’s a manual, one-time import: you export a file from Golf Genius and bring it into Cleek. Cleek does not connect to your Golf Genius account and does not sync in the background.

Do scores and past results come across?

No. The import brings the event and the player roster. Scores are entered in Cleek — which is the point: rounds scored on Cleek are what power challenges, predictions, side games, and share cards.

Does this replace Golf Genius?

It can, but it doesn’t have to. You can keep using Golf Genius exactly as you do and import the events you want to play socially on Cleek — or run everything on Cleek, which handles setup, scoring, leaderboards, and sponsors.

Do players need to enter scores twice?

Only if you also score the event in Golf Genius. For an event you import into Cleek, one player scores the group on Cleek and everyone sees it live — no app download needed.

Does Cleek change anything in my Golf Genius account?

No. You give Cleek an exported file. Cleek never signs in to Golf Genius, never writes back to it, and never modifies your events, scores, or settings there.

What if the roster isn’t quite right?

You see a preview of the event and every player before anything is created, so you can cancel and re-import. Existing members are matched by email and then by name, so you don’t get duplicates.

Which plans include the Golf Genius import?

Club and Club Unlimited. Every other part of Cleek — scoring, leaderboards, challenges, predictions — is available on the free tier, so your players never need a paid plan to play the imported event.

Can I use Cleek without Golf Genius?

Yes. Cleek is a full platform on its own — scoring, events, leaderboards, tournaments. The import is just a shortcut for clubs that already keep their roster in Golf Genius.

Import the roster. Score it on Cleek. Watch the group light up.
